Manufacturing Institute and TSTC partner to bring AI training to Texas
The Manufacturing Institute and Texas State Technical College (TSTC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to implement the AI Skills for Manufacturing Training Suite across Texas. This initiative aims to provide 40,000 current and future frontline manufacturing workers with practical, shop floor-ready AI skills by 2028.
Under the agreement, TSTC will integrate the training suite into its manufacturing course materials. The rollout will begin immediately across TSTC campuses and regional industry partners, offering free AI skills training to students and manufacturers.
Additionally, the Manufacturing Institute announced a $50,000 grant to the TX FAME Lone Star chapter located at TSTC’s New Braunfels campus. This funding is intended to recruit more manufacturing employers and expand student opportunities within the Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) apprenticeship model.
