Manus 2.0 launches with Cascade architecture and personal AI agents

Butterfly Effect has launched Manus 2.0, a major update to its AI agent platform featuring a new orchestration layer called Cascade. The company reports that in internal testing, the Cascade architecture improved task speed by 28.2 percent, reduced token consumption by 23.2 percent, and lowered operating costs by 32 percent compared to previous versions.

The update introduces several new products and capabilities. Manus Studio serves as an upgraded desktop workspace supporting document, code, and video creation, including a specialized video editor and a game development environment. The platform also features event-triggered automations that can be activated by signals from email, Slack, or Notion.

A new standalone application, Cue, has been released for personal agent coordination. In Cue, individual agents are assigned unique identities, including their own email addresses, phone numbers, digital wallets, and computers. These agents can perform tasks and transact within user-defined budget limits. Cue is currently available in early access via invite code, while the iOS version awaits App Store review.
