Manzanares hosts medieval market and ancient music festivals

Manzanares is hosting a series of cultural events focused on its medieval heritage. The Manzanares Medieval festival, held from October 2 to 4, commemorates the town's history as part of the Order of Calatrava. The festival features a themed market, historical parades, medieval theater, artisanal workshops, and recreations of the traditional election of medieval mayors.

Complementing these festivities, the ‘Encomienda de Manzanares’ Ancient Music Festival will take place at the Ciega de Manzanares Cultural Center. The musical program includes Renaissance and Baroque repertoire, featuring performances by the duo Dura Sorte, focusing on 15th and 16th-century music, and Orpheus Musicus, which will present 17th-century Italian instrumental music.
