Manzanares, Spain, unveils new tourist sign to boost local tourism

The municipality of Manzanares has installed a new tourist sign in the Plaza de la Constitución. Designed in the town’s characteristic blue‑and‑indigo colours and featuring a stylised Manchego cheese, the sign is intended to become a popular selfie spot and encourage visitors to share images of the town online.

Mayor Julián Nieva explained that the project was initiated by the Tourism Department and realised in partnership with the local companies Rótulos Intro2 and Marzasa. The structure is robust yet portable, allowing it to be moved to other locations such as the Plaza del Castillo or the Gran Teatro when needed.

The sign joins a broader effort to promote Manzanares’s attractions, which include five museums, historic buildings such as the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción and the Castillo de Pilas Bonas, and a rich gastronomic offering. Local officials called on residents to help preserve the installation through responsible use.
