Manzanillo to host 9th Contecon charity race inside port terminal

The 9th edition of the 'Carrera con causa Contecon Manzanillo' is scheduled for November 8 in Manzanillo, Mexico. This unique sporting event is notable for allowing participants to run through a port terminal, passing under large STS ship-to-shore gantry cranes.

Organizers expect approximately 5,000 athletes to participate in distances of 3, 5.5, and 10 kilometers, as well as children's races. The event is projected to attract around 15,000 visitors to the region over the weekend, providing a boost to local tourism, hotels, and restaurants. Estimates suggest that 70% of runners will be from Colima, while 30% are expected to arrive from other states, primarily Jalisco and Mexico City.
