MAO and Fondazione Torino Musei announce exhibition in Gwangju

The MAO Museo d’Arte Orientale of Turin and the Fondazione Torino Musei have announced ‘Adapted Sceneries. Second Chapter: from Turin to Gwangju’. This exhibition is scheduled to open on September 5, 2026, at Gallery 6 of the Gwangju Museum of Art in South Korea.

The project marks a new phase in the cultural dialogue established by a 2024 collaboration pact between the cities of Turin and Gwangju. While the first chapter of the project focused on the history and art of the Gwangju region for a Turin audience, this second chapter reverses the direction. It will present the artistic, cultural, and socio-political history of Turin and the Piedmont region from the 1960s to the present day.

Utilizing visual arts, architecture, design, music, and performance, the exhibition explores the concept of landscape as a space in constant transformation through the interaction between nature and human intervention.
