Małopolska region utilizes 12 billion PLN from KPO funds

The Małopolska region has signed contracts totaling over 12 billion PLN through the National Recovery Plan (KPO), focusing on transport, healthcare, education, digitalization, and the environment. During a conference in Kraków, officials highlighted that the region is one of the most active in utilizing these funds, ranking second in Poland after Mazowieckie in terms of green transformation and digitalization investments.

Key projects include a 500 million PLN investment for urban transport in Kraków and various smaller-scale improvements in towns like Myślenice and Gorlice. In the Opole region, local authorities have applied for a 180 million PLN interest-free, 20-year KPO loan to fund the second stage of the southern bypass. Additionally, Wałbrzych has secured 136 million PLN for the purchase of 24 buses, including five hydrogen-powered models, with over 93 million PLN coming from EU funds.
