Małopolski Drone Festival showcases defense technology in Kraków
The Małopolski Drone Festival was held at the Polish Aviation Museum in Kraków, showcasing the evolving role of unmanned technology in modern warfare and search-and-rescue operations. The event featured military hardware, including AH-64 Apache and AW149 helicopters, alongside various unmanned systems such as the Bayraktar TB2, FlyEye, WARMATE, and GLADIUS.
Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized that drones have fundamentally changed the rules of the modern battlefield, noting their necessity in contemporary conflicts like the war in Ukraine. The festival also highlighted anti-drone capabilities, including a mobile system developed in Tarnów and the MEROPS anti-drone system, while providing educational programs on the challenges these technologies pose to security services.
