MAPEI Canada donates 99 bicycles to youth in Montreal
As part of the ‘Construire pour donner’ initiative, MAPEI Canada has donated 99 bicycles to youth in need within the Greater Montreal area. The project was conducted in two phases: a bicycle assembly day on September 18 involving over 50 volunteers at the company’s Laval facilities, followed by a formal donation ceremony on September 23.
In addition to receiving the bicycles for transportation and leisure, participants attended cycling initiation sessions led by experts from Cycling Canada and Espoirs Laval. The Montreal Police Service also provided training on bicycle safety. The event featured a surprise visit from professional Canadian cyclists, including 2025 elite women’s road world champion Magdeleine Vallières Mill.
This initiative follows previous years of the ‘Construire pour donner’ program, which in 2024 provided 25 bicycles to families in Montreal and in 2025 provided 50 bicycles to children in Delta, British Columbia.
