Mapfre reports 218 million euro profit contribution from Latin America

Mapfre reported that its Latin American operations contributed 218 million euros to the Group's net profit during the first half of 2026. This performance supported a total attributable net profit of 624 million euros, representing a 9.4% increase compared to the same period the previous year.

Brazil emerged as the most profitable market in the region, generating a net result exceeding 136 million euros and a return on equity (ROE) of 25.1%. While premiums in Brazil reached 2,249 million euros due to the appreciation of the real, local currency business volume saw a slight decrease of 0.7% due to high interest rates affecting credit-linked insurance.

In a separate development, Mapfre's assistance unit, MAWDY, held its first global provider meeting. The event, which included participation from strategic providers in Panama, aimed to strengthen collaboration and integrate new technologies and sustainability practices across its network of over 70,000 providers operating in 23 countries.
