Mapo-gu confirms 67 pledges under 5 strategic goals

Mapo-gu, led by District Head Yoo Dong-gyun, has finalized 67 pledge projects as part of its ninth elected administration's vision, ‘Running Mapo Again! A Future Together.’ The initiatives are organized into five strategic pillars: Vital Mapo, Smart Mapo, Safe Mapo, Healing Mapo, and Future Mapo.

Key projects include the construction of new community centers, the establishment of a complex cultural and sports center, and the creation of an underground swimming pool at Sinsu Children's Park. To enhance administrative efficiency, the district has implemented ‘Mapo Brain,’ an AI-based administrative assistant.

Social welfare efforts focus on life-cycle care, including expanded childcare spaces, support for the elderly, and the establishment of the ‘Geunyang Haedeurim Center,’ supported by a first-of-its-kind local ordinance. Environmental and cultural goals include the ‘Planting 5 Million Trees Again’ project and the development of the Hongdae Renaissance cultural tourism belt. Additionally, the district aims to support youth and education through the creation of a one-stop education special zone and increased support for youth employment and entrepreneurship.
