Maputo International Fair focuses on MSME trade and economic integration

The 61st edition of the Maputo International Fair (FACIM) is currently underway in Marracuene, Mozambique, serving as a platform for economic integration and business development.

The Institute for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises (IPEME) is utilizing the event to focus on how micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), cooperatives, women, and youth can access the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Discussions aim to address barriers to market access, financing, and value chain integration to ensure small businesses can compete effectively in broader African markets.

In the financial sector, Banco Comercial e de Investimentos (BCI) is participating as a sponsor, offering digital banking solutions and financing for sectors such as agriculture, agribusiness, and renewable energy. The bank's presence was highlighted by a visit from President Daniel Chapo during the inaugural ceremony.
