Mar de Ajó residents protest high Clyfema electricity rates

Residents in Mar de Ajó, located in the southern part of the La Costa district, held a protest in front of the Clyfema offices to demand explanations regarding high electricity bills. Protesters used tire fires and graffiti to express their grievances against the cooperative.

Demonstrators reported that the costs are becoming unmanageable for many families. One notable case involved a retiree who claimed to have received an electricity bill for $750,000 despite having a monthly income of approximately $500,000. Residents are calling for a review of the billing amounts and the interest rates applied to financing plans, asserting that the recorded consumption does not match their actual energy usage.
