Mar del Plata hosts XVII Latin American Beekeeping Congress

Mar del Plata is hosting the XVII Latin American Beekeeping Congress (FILAPI 2026), the most significant event for the sector in Latin America. The congress, which runs until September 6, brings together over one thousand participants from 23 countries.

Organized by the Ministry of Agrarian Development and the Argentine Beekeepers Society (SADA), the event features symposia, workshops, and technical panels covering topics such as bee health, pollination, technology, and sustainability. The congress also includes a commercial exhibition with approximately 43 companies from Argentina and abroad.

Javier Rodríguez, the Minister of Agrarian Development for Buenos Aires, noted that beekeeping is a vital activity present in all 135 districts of the province, contributing to food quality and job creation. The province of Buenos Aires currently maintains more than 1.7 million hives and produces over 40,000 tons of honey annually.
