Mar del Plata Port inaugurates new cargo weighing scale

The Mar del Plata Regional Port Consortium has inaugurated a new weighing scale for cargo transport. The facility, which has a maximum capacity of 60,000 kilograms, is intended to ensure the correct weighing of freight and serve as a new business unit for the port.

The equipment was acquired through an agreement with the Argentine Foreign Trade Single Window Execution Unit. The digital scale, a Full GaMa El Calafate model, uses software that connects directly to the indicator to automate weight data, reducing errors and streamlining the process.

Located at Avenida Prefectura Naval Argentina, the scale will record gross, tare, and net weights for incoming and outgoing cargo, generating tax-valid receipts. The operation will be authorized for both foreign trade and local markets upon receiving official clearance from the Agency for Tax and Customs Control (ARCA).
