María Corina Machado meets with legal advisor Perkins Rocha
Opposition leader María Corina Machado held her first in-person meeting with legal advisor Perkins Rocha at his residence in Venezuela. The meeting follows Rocha’s release from prison after 539 days of detention.
Rocha is currently under house arrest, which includes permanent police custody and the use of an electronic ankle monitor. Despite these judicial restrictions, Rocha reaffirmed his support for Machado’s leadership and the democratic movement.
The encounter was documented by the Comando con Venezuela campaign platform, which described the measures against Rocha as an attempt to intimidate the opposition. Rocha, a key legal advisor for the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD), stated that the meeting confirmed the ongoing struggle to restore constitutional guarantees in the country.
