María del Monte discusses personal freedom and past media scandals

Spanish singer María del Monte has addressed her history of media scrutiny and her philosophy on living authentically while promoting her new book, ‘Si el corazón se equivoca, se le perdona’.

During an interview, she reflected on the 1995 controversy involving photographs of her and Isabel Pantoja published by Diez Minutos. Addressing the impact of those images, del Monte stated, “I didn't care, I said it at the time. I wasn't killing anyone, I wasn't attacking anyone, I was playing on the beach.”

She also spoke about her identity and the concept of being “out of the closet,” a term she rejects. Del Monte emphasized that she has never hidden anyone nor herself, noting, “In my environment there was no need.” The artist described her approach to life as one of personal freedom, which includes the right to maintain privacy and set boundaries regarding her personal relationships and history.
