María del Socorro Briseño González retires after 38 years at UAEMéx

María del Socorro Briseño González, a university accountant and longtime educator, concluded a 38‑year career at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMéx). Originating from Toluca and the eighth of ten siblings, she began as an auxiliary accountant in the Faculty of Engineering in 1988 and soon discovered a passion for teaching, delivering uninterrupted classes for 36 years.

During her tenure she rose to become head of the Administrative Unit of the Dirección General de Comunicación Social Universitaria (DGCSU), serving in that role across five university administrations. Her work spanned financial resources, insurance, and project management, leaving a legacy of commitment, leadership, and personal connection with hundreds of students.
