María Hórreo Montes appointed manager of Asturias' ERA

The Government of the Principality of Asturias has appointed María Hórreo Montes as the new manager of the Autonomous Body of Residential Establishments for the Elderly (ERA). Her appointment, which is set to be approved by the Governing Council next Tuesday, succeeds Nerea Monroy, who was recently named Counselor for Social Rights and Welfare.

Hórreo Montes, born in Cangas de Onís in 1979, previously served as the director-manager of the Emburria Association. She holds a degree in Social Education and is an expert in Gerontology from the University of Oviedo, with postgraduate specializations in the management of social service centers and residential care for people in situations of dependency.

Her professional background includes work as a social educator, the creation and management of a Special Employment Center (CEE), and expertise in quality management systems and human resources. Her former organization, Emburria, was recently awarded the Medal of Asturias for its commitment to the social inclusion of people with functional diversity.
