María José Quintanilla nominated for Copihue de Oro Artist of the Year
Chilean singer and presenter María José Quintanilla has been officially nominated for ‘Artist of the Year’ at the 2026 Copihue de Oro awards. The announcement was made during a broadcast on Televisión Nacional de Chile (TVN), which will host the ceremony marking the 21st anniversary of the awards presented by La Cuarta.
Quintanilla is competing against Mon Laferte, Alanis Lagos, Sinaka, and Candelabro. Unlike many industry awards, the Copihue de Oro winners are determined entirely by public vote. Voting is open on the official platform until November 25, with participants eligible to enter a drawing for a commemorative 18-karat gold pendant. The winners will be announced during a special gala on December 4.
In a separate professional development, Quintanilla announced a temporary departure from her hosting duties on the Mega program ‘Dale Play’ to focus on her musical commitments and scheduled vacations. Argentine presenter Joaquín Méndez has been named as her replacement during this period.
