María Laura Quintero reflects on her accidental transition to acting

Colombian actress María Laura Quintero recently reflected on her nearly 15-year career, noting that her entry into acting was unplanned. While running an agency and a foundation for young artists in Valledupar, she was approached by Caracol Televisión.

Her debut role was in the 2012 production ‘Rafael Orozco, el ídolo’. Despite initial doubts and insecurities regarding her performance on camera, she accepted the challenge. Quintero, who studied Government and International Relations, has since appeared in various productions including ‘Los Morales’, ‘La Cacica’, ‘Pambelé’, ‘Sin senos sí hay paraíso’, and ‘Los Briceño’, as well as international projects for Telemundo.

Quintero acknowledged the personal sacrifices required by her profession, specifically the emotional cost of being distanced from her family due to work commitments in Colombia and the United States.
