Mara Lezama welcomes 2,399 new students to UQROO

Quintana Roo Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa welcomed 2,399 new students to the Universidad Autónoma de Quintana Roo (UQROO) for the Fall 2026 cycle. The incoming class consists of 1,414 women and 985 men.

During the event, which included UQROO Rector Consuelo Natalia Fiorentini Cañedo, the Governor encouraged students to pursue their passions and contribute to the development of their communities. She also emphasized the importance of avoiding violence and self-destructive behaviors.

To support the student body, the administration announced new urban transport routes with a special 10-peso fare. According to IMOVEQROO, students can access the campus via the Calzada Veracruz, UQROO, and Universidades routes, covering 97 neighborhoods in Chetumal.
