María Pía Copello announces sanctions following streaming parody controversy

María Pía Copello, host of the streaming program ‘Sin + Que Decir’, announced disciplinary measures following a controversy involving parodies that caused discomfort to Sheyla Rojas and Alejandra Baigorria.

Following a management meeting, Copello stated that salary deductions would be applied to those involved in the segment, including Israel Dreyfus, Ethel Pozo, and Magaly Medina, due to their roles or reactions to the incident. Copello noted that the goal was to prevent jokes from causing distress to participants.

In response to the backlash, Israel Dreyfus declined to apologize to Sheyla Rojas. Dreyfus expressed surprise at Rojas’s reaction, suggesting she had previously accepted such humor. He also questioned the authenticity of her public statement and rejected claims of gender-based mockery, characterizing the situation as an attempt at victimization.
