María Pagés to open 75th Santander International Festival

María Pagés will open the dance programming for the 75th Santander International Festival with her production ‘Paraíso de los negros’. The performance, which she also directs and choreographs, is inspired by Federico García Lorca’s ‘Poet in New York’ and explores themes of human happiness and desire.

The event is scheduled for Friday, August 14, at the Sala Argenta of the Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria. The production features El Arbi El Harti on direction and scenography, with musical direction and costume design by Pagés. The cast includes singers Ana Ramón and Cristina Pedrosa, guitarist Rubén Levaniego, and a string and percussion ensemble.
