MARA signs 500 industry MoUs, reports 99.2% TVET graduate employment
Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) signed more than 500 memoranda of understanding with industry partners to secure employment for graduates of its TVET programmes. The collaboration, highlighted by Deputy Minister of Rural Development Rubiah Wang, recorded a graduate employability rate of 99.2 percent. Programs such as GIATMARA Miri’s partnership with Berjaya Ship Yard combine extended training periods and have already placed trainees directly into jobs.
MARA also approved funding to upgrade facilities at its Rembau TVET centre, including repairs to sewing machines and restroom amenities, to improve student comfort. Chairman Datuk Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki emphasized that these enhancements support a range of creative and design diplomas, ensuring that Bumiputera youth receive relevant, high‑quality vocational education aligned with industry needs.
The agency is expanding community‑based TVET and Tahfiz programmes to reach rural youth, aiming to prevent them from being left behind in the skilled‑labour market.
