María Tardón: judicial career and political background

María Tardón, a magistrate of the Audiencia Nacional, has a professional history that spans both the judiciary and politics. During the late 1990s and early 2000s, she served as a councilwoman and third deputy mayor in Madrid for the People's Party (PP).

While her political past has been used to question her impartiality, Tardón is a prominent member of the Asociación de Jueces y Magistrados Francisco de Vitoria, an organization that maintains political neutrality.
