Mara Vasilescu debuts in Divizia A1 volleyball with Rapid

Mara Vasilescu, the sister-in-law of Romanian international footballer Radu Drăgușin, has made her debut in the women's Divizia A1 volleyball league. At 18 years old, the young setter started for Rapid București in a match against Medicina Târgu Mureș.

Vasilescu learned she would be in the starting lineup only minutes before warm-ups began. Despite the pressure of her first top-tier appearance, she reported being able to manage her emotions through mental preparation, noting that her focus shifted entirely to technique and tactics once the match commenced. The game was a competitive five-set encounter.
