Marabá pharmacy and fabric store destroyed by large fire

A large fire broke out in the Cidade Nova neighborhood of Marabá, Pará, during the early hours of Tuesday, October 13. The blaze began around 4:30 a.m. at a pharmacy and spread to an adjacent fabric store. The presence of large quantities of stored textiles reportedly hindered firefighting efforts and accelerated the spread of the flames.

The fire also affected the electrical grid and at least three properties. To ensure public safety, the Fire Department isolated an entire block of Nagib Mutran Avenue. Emergency teams remain mobilized to prevent the fire from reaching nearby residential buildings and other commercial establishments. There are currently no reports regarding the cause of the fire or any casualties.
