Maracaibo hosts world premiere of Italia Media Art Festival
Maracaibo, Venezuela, will serve as the inaugural venue for the third edition of the Italia Media Art Festival (IMAF 2026) on Tuesday, October 20. The event, held at the Centro de Bellas Artes – Ateneo de Maracaibo, marks the start of an international circuit that will later travel to Europe, including stops in Rome and Zagarolo.
The festival features 17 video art works—13 from an international call and four from invited artists—exploring themes such as artificial intelligence, digital creativity, and human transformation. The exhibition focuses on the theme ‘The energy that transforms: the human and spiritual force that becomes action for the future.’
Founded in Rome in 2024 by Marinellys Tremamunno, the festival aims to bridge the gap between digital art and new audiences. The regional coordination is led by specialist Jimmy Yánez, the IMAF representative for Latin America.
