Maracaibo launches campaign for Venezuela’s National Popular Consultation

The campaign for Venezuela’s National Popular Consultation, scheduled for October 18, has officially launched in Maracaibo, Zulia state. The announcement was made by Ángel Prado, the Minister of Communes, Social Movements, and Urban Agriculture, during a communal event held at the Bendición de Dios Commune in the San Isidro parish.

Minister Prado highlighted Zulia as a strategic starting point for the campaign due to its high level of organization, noting that the state contains 582 communes. He projected a turnout of 650,000 votes in the region and credited the communal organization with supporting the recovery of the state governorship and several local mayoralties.

The event included representatives from the Maracaibo Mayor’s Office, including Gianluigi Di Martino, who spoke on behalf of Mayor Giancarlo Di Martino. The campaign activities were conducted simultaneously across 125 self-governance rooms within the capital city.
