Maracaibo launches fourth Copa Azzurra kickingball cup and celebrates theater reopening anniversary

The Bolívarian Mayor of Maracaibo, Giancarlo Di Martino, inaugurated the fourth edition of the Copa Azzurra kickingball tournament on June 21, 2026. The eight‑weekend event features 24 teams and about 480 athletes and is promoted as a youth‑development initiative tied to the upcoming FIFA World Cup celebrations.

Two days later, Maracaibo marked the second anniversary of the Teatro Escuela of the Instituto Niños Cantores del Zulia. Seven local choirs performed in a concert supported by the Zulia state government and the municipal mayor’s office. Representatives of the governor’s office and the mayor’s wife, Ana Clara Barboza de Di Martino, attended the ceremony.

Both events underscore the city’s focus on expanding sport and cultural programs for families and young people.
