Maracaibo municipal government supports local social and athletic initiatives

The Maracaibo Mayor's Office has launched two distinct initiatives aimed at community support and regional representation. In a social welfare effort, the municipality provided tracking canes and technical aids to members of the Asociación Zuliana de Ciegos. This distribution, held in observance of International White Cane Day, was led by First Lady Ana Clara Barboza de Di Martino to promote autonomy and inclusion for visually impaired citizens.

Simultaneously, the municipality is supporting the Zulia region's participation in the 2026 National Communal Sports Games (Judenacom). An initial group of 40 athletes, including swimmers and senior citizens, has departed to compete in various Venezuelan states. The delegation, supported by the Municipal Institute of Sport and Recreation (Imdeprec), includes participants from both youth and senior categories representing Maracaibo.
