Maracaibo police arrest man for femicide and fake dentist
Police in Zulia, Venezuela, have conducted two separate arrests in Maracaibo involving criminal activities.
In the Canchancha sector, authorities apprehended 58-year-old José Luis Viloria. Following an investigative patrol, officers identified Viloria through the SIIPOL system, which revealed an active arrest warrant issued by a Zulia judicial circuit. The warrant is related to a femicide investigation under the Organic Law on the Right of Women to a Life Free of Violence. Viloria attempted to flee on foot but was intercepted by Polimaracaibo officers.
In a separate incident in western Maracaibo, Sipez officers arrested a 28-year-old man for the illegal practice of dentistry. The individual was performing orthodontic procedures and aesthetic treatments without professional authorization or academic credentials. During the arrest, the suspect admitted he had not completed high school. Authorities seized medical equipment, including electric drills, curing lamps, specialized metal instruments, resins, and orthodontic bands. The case has been referred to the 17th Prosecutor's Office of the Public Ministry.
