Maracaibo Rock 10K returns with record-breaking finishes
The Maracaibo Rock 10K athletic competition returned to western Venezuela, drawing over 2,500 participants to the urban circuit. The event marked the return of the race, which had been suspended since 2018.
In the women's category, 18-year-old Luciani Navarro from Cabimas secured the absolute championship with a time of 38 minutes and 55 seconds. Navarro, a member of the Zulia state selection, managed her pace to break the 40-minute barrier for the first time in her career. Roxielys Navarro also led the female category, followed by Andrea Clemant and Estefania Melendez.
In the men's category, José Daniel González won the championship with a time of 29 minutes and 26 seconds. This performance set a new record for the event, making him the first runner to finish in under 30 minutes across the six editions of the race. Whinton Palma and Yonny Pozas completed the men's podium.
