Brazil to host 2027 Women's World Cup with Maracanã hosting opening and final

FIFA has announced the logistical details for the 2027 Women's World Cup, which will be hosted in Brazil. The tournament will feature 32 teams and 64 matches distributed across eight Brazilian cities. The Maracanã stadium in Rio de Janeiro has been selected to host both the opening match on June 24, 2027, and the tournament final on July 25, 2027.

As the host nation, Brazil is guaranteed a position in Group A. The Brazilian women's national team is scheduled to debut at the Maracanã, with subsequent group stage matches planned for the Neo Química Arena in São Paulo and the Mané Garrincha in Brasília. São Paulo is set to be a major hub, hosting ten matches, including a potential semifinal and the third-place play-off.

Other host cities include Fortaleza, Belo Horizonte, Salvador, Recife, and Porto Alegre. The group stage draw is scheduled to take place in December at FIFA headquarters in Zurich. Brazil's head coach, Arthur Elias, has expressed approval of the logistics, noting that early knowledge of the venues will allow for better preparation and planning.
