Maradona death trial: Dalma Maradona blames surgeon Leopoldo Luque

The criminal trial over the death of Argentine football legend Diego Maradona continued at the Tribunal Oral en lo Criminal No 7 in San Isidro. Dalma Maradona, the star’s elder daughter, testified that the neuro‑surgeon Leopoldo Luque presented home‑care as the only viable option, yet the promised 24‑hour ambulance, nurses and equipment never materialised. She recalled Luque’s assurance, "Yo puedo, estoy a la altura," and described finding her father’s body severely swollen after a failed home‑internment.

Swiss Medical’s senior nurse Nancy Forlini also faced questioning, insisting the contract covered only "cuidados domiciliarios" and not a full‑scale home‑internment. She denied any service failures but acknowledged the lack of a permanent ambulance at the Tigre residence. Both defendants are charged with simple homicide with eventual dolo alongside other alleged co‑accused.
