Maranhão Fashion Week set for Nov. 17‑18 at FIEMA in São Luís
The 7th edition of Maranhão Fashion Week (MAFW) was launched by the Sindicato das Indústrias de Malharia e Confecções de Roupas do Maranhão (SINDVEST) and the Circuito Nacional Fashion Week (CNFW). The event will take place on 17 and 18 November at the Federação das Indústrias do Estado do Maranhão (FIEMA) in São Luís, marking the first time the venue hosts the state's premier fashion showcase.
FIEMA president Edilson Baldez highlighted the show’s role in generating business for the entire fashion supply chain, while FIEMA vice‑president and SEBRAE‑MA council chair Celso Gonçalo said the week will strengthen industry, value commerce and create opportunities for thousands of small enterprises. SINDVEST president Ana Rute Rocha Nunes called MAFW a platform that projects Maranhão’s creative talent nationally and internationally.
The program will feature commercial and authorial runway shows, exhibitions of art and design, and talks on entrepreneurship, sustainability and innovation. CNFW director KyAnn Kart noted the new FIEMA facilities include a climate‑controlled runway hall, an exhibition lounge for direct sales, and a dedicated sponsor area, enhancing the experience for brands and visitors. CNFW also coordinates fashion weeks in 11 other Brazilian cities.
