Maranhão Government invests R$ 65.3 million in rural machinery
The Government of Maranhão has delivered 238 machines to strengthen family farming and improve rural infrastructure through the Maranhão Sustentável program. The investment, totaling R$ 65.3 million, includes 150 agricultural tractors equipped with plows, trailers, and mowers, as well as 88 backhoes.
Of the total investment, R$ 34.5 million was dedicated to the tractor sets, while R$ 30.8 million was allocated for the backhoes. The tractors are intended to assist small producers with land preparation, while the backhoes will be used for road maintenance, drainage, and fire prevention.
Specific municipalities, including São Francisco do Maranhão and Bacurituba, are recipients of the equipment. Governor Carlos Brandão noted that the initiative aims to integrate state and municipal efforts to support rural production and food access.
