Maranhão Governor announces Nova Litorânea completion for September

Maranhão Governor Carlos Brandão announced that the Nova Litorânea road extension project, connecting São Luís and São José de Ribamar, is expected to be completed by the end of September. The project has currently reached 84% execution.

During an inspection alongside Minister of Cities Vladimir Lima, Brandão highlighted the strategic importance of the work for urban mobility in the Grande Ilha region. The project includes a bridge over the Rio Jaguarema, which is nearing completion. Once finished, the new road will integrate with Avenida Metropolitana to form a ring road and will feature a boardwalk, bike lanes, lighting, and landscaping.

The governor expressed gratitude to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for the federal government's financial support through the Growth Acceleration Program (PAC). The inspection also aimed to monitor the execution schedule and discuss the release of remaining funds.
