Maranhão launches 3,350‑spot police and fire brigade recruitment exam

Governor Carlos Brandão announced the publication of the editals for the Maranhão State Police (PMMA) and the Military Fire Brigade (CBMMA). The exams, organized by Cebraspe, will open 3,350 immediate vacancies covering both high‑school and university‑level positions. Candidates can register online from 17 July to 7 August 2026 and must meet age, height, education and driver‑license requirements. Written tests are scheduled for 11 October for the police and 18 October for the fire brigade in seven cities, including São Luís, Imperatriz and Caxias. The governor said, “This is the largest public‑service recruitment in Maranhão’s history, starting with security and followed by future contests for health, administration and education.” Successful applicants will receive a salary of R$ 6,149.08 and a 40‑hour work week.
