Maranhão opens health and police exams, adding over 1,000 public jobs

The municipality of Milagres do Maranhão announced a public contest to hire medium‑level health workers – community health agents and agents for disease‑control – with immediate vacancies and a reserve list. Positions are spread across urban and rural UBS units, require high‑school education, a 40‑hour work week and offer a salary of R$3,242. Applications are accepted from 20 July to 3 August 2026.

The Maranhão Civil Police also opened registration for a statewide competition for official investigators, offering 357 immediate jobs and 714 reserve slots. Candidates must hold a university degree and will undergo written, physical, psychological and medical tests in five cities in December. The starting salary is R$6,514.30 for a 40‑hour week. Together, the two contests create more than a thousand new public‑sector positions in the state.
