Maranhão police uncover unauthorized access to 828 Pix keys

The Civil Police of Maranhão reported that unauthorized users accessed personal data linked to 828 Pix keys through misuse of system credentials. The accessed information included the key holder’s name, CPF, bank and creation date, but did not contain passwords, balances, or transaction details, preventing direct financial loss.

Authorities promptly blocked the suspicious accesses, preserved digital evidence, and notified Brazil’s Central Bank, which is monitoring the case. An investigation is underway to determine whether the breach was intentional or caused by system flaws. Police have urged residents to stay vigilant against fraud attempts, warning that criminals could exploit the exposed personal data for phishing or other scams.
