Maranhão Public Defender's Office provides 2,700 services in Bom Jesus das Selvas

The Public Defender's Office of Maranhão provided 2,709 free services to the population of Bom Jesus das Selvas between August 18 and 20 through its ‘Carreta dos Direitos’ initiative. The mobile action brought together various public and private entities to offer documentation, legal guidance, and social benefits in a single location.

Services included the issuance of identity cards, birth, marriage, and death certificates, as well as legal counseling regarding divorce, alimony, paternity recognition, and custody. Additionally, the initiative facilitated INSS consultations and debt renegotiation with Equatorial Energia. The program also integrated ‘Agosto Lilás’ to mark the 20th anniversary of the Maria da Penha Law, providing legal support and assistance to local women.
