Marano and Camerano adopt new urban plans as safeguards lapse
In the southern Italian town of Marano, the municipal urban plan (PUC) adopted a year ago will lose its one‑year protective safeguards on 12 August. The expiration creates legal uncertainty over whether new building applications will be judged against the now‑defunct plan or the older 1985‑87 regulatory framework, raising the risk of administrative delays and disputes.
Meanwhile, the council of Camerano in the Marche region approved the programmatic document for its new General Urban Plan (PUG). The plan, intended to replace the existing General Regulatory Plan, emphasizes sustainability, public participation through a series of “Agenda Urbana” meetings, and compliance with environmental assessment rules. The municipality will continue the consultation process from November 2024 to March 2025.
