Marantz announces CINEMA 60 and 70s Series 2 AV amplifiers

Marantz has announced two new mid-range AV amplifiers, the CINEMA 60 Series 2 and the slim-design CINEMA 70s Series 2, scheduled for release on October 30. The CINEMA 60 Series 2 is priced at 242,000 yen, while the CINEMA 70s Series 2 is priced at 187,000 yen.

Both models incorporate power amplifier technology derived from the flagship CINEMA 40, utilizing a fully discrete AB-class linear power amplifier circuit. To enhance driving capability and reduce noise, the designs employ current mirror and constant current source circuits. The CINEMA 60 Series 2 features Marantz’s proprietary HDAM-SA2 high-speed amplifier modules in its preamplifier section to ensure wide-band frequency response and high slew rates.

Technical upgrades include the adoption of a new 8-channel 32-bit DAC from Cirrus Logic and integrated HDMI jitter reduction to improve signal transmission accuracy. Marantz has also utilized custom-developed block capacitors and high-quality components, such as copper screws and specialized insulators, to improve sound quality and noise suppression.
