Marantz releases Cinema 50 Series 2 audio processor

Marantz has released the Cinema 50 Series 2, an updated audio processor designed for high-end home cinema setups. The device features nine 110-watt amplifier channels and supports 11.4 channel audio processing when paired with an external power amplifier.

A primary technical upgrade in this series is the Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) architecture. The manufacturer has replaced multiple two-channel Texas Instruments chips with two eight-channel Cirrus Logic CS4308S chips. According to Denon, this change aims to ensure better synchronization of clocks, filters, and output stages across all channels, reducing potential variations in sound quality.

The unit includes six HDMI inputs, three outputs, eleven speaker terminals, and four individual subwoofer outputs. Despite these internal improvements, the retail price remains unchanged from the original 2022 model.
