Marat Grigorian advances to ONE tournament semifinals with win over Usubyan

Marat Grigorian secured a spot in the semifinals of the ONE SAMURAI Featherweight Kickboxing Tournament following a decision victory over Mamuka Usubyan at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok on August 7.

Grigorian, a three-time Glory Kickboxing World Champion, utilized a Dutch-style kickboxing approach, employing heavy punch-kick combinations and relentless pressure to earn his 71st professional win. Despite the victory, Grigorian noted the difficulty of the bout, stating that Usubyan attempted to avoid close-quarters exchanges by maintaining distance and running to score points.

With this win, the 35-year-old Armenian fighter advances to face Luo Chao in the tournament semifinals. A victory in that match would move Grigorian closer to a potential fourth encounter with the reigning ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion, Superbon.
