Marathon Bike 35th edition ends competitive era in Casatenovo, Italy

The 35th edition of the Marathon Bike of the Brianza, scheduled for the weekend of 5‑6 September 2026, will host its final competitive race. The event was presented at the Fiera di San Gaetano in Rogoredo, Casatenovo, where a commemorative plaque was awarded to Ennio Decio, president of the Bike Action Team Galgiana, the long‑time organizer.

The competitive race will cover 50 km with 1 200 m of climbing, starting from Missaglia and featuring the iconic San Genesio ascent. Fifteen minutes later the non‑competitive “Avventura” ride will follow the same route. A new 14 km “History” course is also introduced for less‑trained riders. Representatives of FCI Lombardia, the provincial committee of Lecco and the Montevecchia‑Valle del Curone Park attended, highlighting the event’s regional sporting significance. After 1992, the Marathon Bike will shift from a race format to a purely participatory mountain‑bike gathering.
