Marathon Burger and Kogi BBQ open at LAX Terminal 1
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) have announced the opening of Marathon Burger and Kogi BBQ at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Terminal 1. The move is part of a dining and retail refresh aimed at bringing local Los Angeles culture and culinary brands to international travelers.
Marathon Burger, a business led by Samiel “Blacc Sam” Asghedom to carry forward the entrepreneurial legacy of the late rapper Nipsey Hussle, has opened its first airport location. The Terminal 1 site features an exclusive breakfast menu alongside the chain’s standard offerings, such as double smash burgers, wings, and fries. The expansion follows previous locations in Los Angeles, Venice Beach, and Long Beach.
Kogi BBQ, co-founded by Chef Roy Choi, also joined the terminal as part of the airport’s rebranding efforts. The openings were celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring performances by the Crenshaw Marching Band and the group 1500 or Nothin’.
