Marathon du Médoc combines running with wine and food tastings
The Marathon du Médoc offers a unique sensory experience that combines a 42.195-kilometer race with culinary tastings. Traversing prestigious wine regions such as Pauillac, Saint-Julien, and Saint-Estèphe, the event features approximately 20 oenological stops where participants can sample local wines.
In addition to wine, the course includes gourmet stations offering items such as aged cheeses, croissants, and oysters. The event is known for its festive atmosphere, with participants often wearing costumes; this year's theme is the 1980s. Experts note that due to the dehydrating effects of alcohol, runners are advised to maintain proper hydration with proteins and electrolytes.
